What is the difference between CMF and Plone?

The basics are that Zope is the main foundation application on which other products can be installed into.

The CMF (Content Management Framework) is a set of products for Zope that includes basic user membership, workflow and content management.

Plone is an extention to the CMF built on the CMF which has more out of the box capabilities and programs.
